Leadership

Julie Cruit Angilly
Founder & CEO
Julie Cruit Angilly is a senior marketing and fundraising executive whose specialty is building the development and communications functions that growth-stage nonprofits need in order to scale. She founded Lotus Revenue and Brand Consultants in 2014 after more than a decade in senior nonprofit leadership, where she had been the client more often than the consultant. As Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Julie leads the firm's strategic direction, business development, and senior client engagement, partnering with Brittany Lavalleur on the operations side to ensure excellence in the work clients hire Lotus to do.
With more than two decades in the nonprofit sector, Julie brings deep expertise in fundraising strategy, marketing, and organizational growth to her clients. Before founding Lotus, she served as Vice President of Development and Communications at An Achievable Dream and as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Education Pioneers, where she led the successful close of a three-year, $30 million contributed-revenue campaign. Across those roles and others, she has personally raised more than $60 million in philanthropic revenue and built marketing, communications, and fundraising teams that consistently exceed revenue goals. The pattern that runs through the work is consistent: take responsibility for the full revenue function, set the strategy, build the team to execute it, and stay close enough to the work to see it produce.

Brittany Lavalleur
Chief Development & Operations Officer
Brittany Lavalleur, bCRE-Pro, is a senior fundraising and development operations leader whose specialty is translating fundraising strategy into structured execution building the systems, managing the details, and coaching development staff through the major gift conversations and operational disciplines that produce results. She joined Lotus Revenue and Brand Consultants in early 2023 to partner with founder Julie Cruit Angilly in guiding the firm's expansion and client services. As Chief Development and Operations Officer, Brittany complements Julie's strategic direction by leading the operational systems and the hands-on execution that support client success.
With more than two decades in the nonprofit sector, Brittany brings expertise in fundraising and development operations, and a grounded, practitioner's perspective to Lotus's clients. Much of her career was spent inside and leading fundraising departments for symphony orchestras, before transitioning to K–12 educational equity. She has hands-on experience driving contributed revenue, soliciting major and planned gifts, leading comprehensive campaigns, and managing annual campaigns, volunteers, and teams. Prior leadership roles include Director of Development at An Achievable Dream and at the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, where she led teams to consistently exceed annual departmental revenue goals between $3 million and $6 million.
Her strength is in the how of fundraising. Brittany's logical, deliberate mindset moves through complex software to build and manage structured, sustainable systems that allow fundraising programs to grow. The bCRE-Pro credential reflects expertise in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, but her technical fluency extends well beyond a single platform, which lets her translate high-level strategy into practical execution. Brittany was named to Virginia Media's Inside Business Top 40 Under 40 in 2024, honored in 2018 by her alma mater on Alumni Day, is a 2013 graduate of the League of American Orchestras pretigious Essentials of Orchestra Management program and was previously recognized in Fundraising Success Magazine as a Rising Star Fundraising Professional of the Year in 2012. Outside her work with clients, she currently serves as Secretary and Fundraising Chair for The Chapel Pantry, and previously served as Secretary of the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach. Brittany lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with her husband, four children, and three cats.
Her strength is in the what and why of fundraising. Julie translates an organization's mission and ambition into a clear strategy donors can support and a development team can deliver, then stays close enough to the execution to ensure the strategy meets reality. Her work is grounded in the conviction that nonprofit organizations deserve complete transparency from their consulting partners — and that an engagement is only successful when the client is stronger at the end of it than at the beginning. Julie holds a BA in Politics and Communications from Wake Forest University and completed the Developing Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals at Columbia Business School. She serves as Strategic Planning and Fundraising Chair on the board of H3 Baseball, where she lends her professional expertise to a community-focused organization in her family's home of Virginia Beach. Julie lives with her husband and has two children in college.
